Eugeniy Chevkenov, Conductor


Eugeniy Chevkenov was born 1971 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He started playing violin at age of 6 and won numerous competitions before age of 18. After completed studies Plovdiv Music School and Sofia National Music Academy, he moved to Vienna where he graduated from The State Music University Vienna and while still a student, played in the Vienna Philharmonic for 5 seasons. In 2000 he received the Honor Citizenship of Austria, given by the Government for his extraordinary achievements as an internationally acclaimed musician. Chevkenov has performed as solo violinist and conductor in nearly 40 countries around the world in the most prestigious halls such as Carnegie Hall,Konzerthaus Wien, Musikverein, Munich Philharmonie, Osaka Symphonie Hall, Pesti Vigado Budapest, Conway Hall London, Bellas Artes Mexico City, to name a few. 2000-2014 Professor at Gustav Mahler Conservatory Vienna, 2013 till present Professor Wiener Musikseminar, since 2014 Professor at Richard Wagner Conservatory Vienna, since 2014 Chairman of the Culture Committee of Eugeniy Chevkenov was born 1971 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Leonard Prinsloo, Regisseur


 

 The South African born director and choreographer Leonard Prinsloo, has staged and choreographed more than 60 operas, operettas, dance performances and musicals internationally. Having completed his training as classical dancer as well as attaining the Master of Music degree, he initially started a career as ballet soloist in companies in South Africa, Germany and Italy. He is presently the House Director of the Lehár Festival in Bad Ischl, as well as the Artistic Director of the theatrical youth project “Etterepo” in Bad Ischl.

As of 2017, he will be the House Director for the opera house in Baden.

Apart from the classical repertoire, Prinsloo has staged several world premieres in Vienna (Burgtheater Wien, Neue Oper Wien), Linz and Klagenfurt. Apart from professional productions he has directed several operas for the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien) as well as the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (Die Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien)

The musician from Turin studied piano and composition at his hometown conservatory while simultaneously deepening his literary and philosophical interests at the University of Turin.
He studied orchestra conducting (Bachelor and Master of Arts) under Professor Georg Mark at the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität and in Milano at the Conservatorio G. Verdi with Maestro Vittorio Parisi.
He has been scholarship holder of the foundation” Associazione per la Musica De Sono”.
Directly after his education he became assintant conductor of the Houlencourt Soloists Chamber Orchestra, where he worked together with artists like Guy Braunstein, Boris and Evelyn Berezovsky and Richard Galliano.
In the seasons 2013-15 he served as assistant condcutor of Walter Kobera for the Neue Oper Wien (Vienna) and in the season 2015-16 he was assistant condcutor of Philippe Jordan at the Vienna Symphony Orchestra for several projects.
2017 he was appointed music director of the Wiener Hofburg Orchester and Wiener Residenzorchester.
Recent engagements include his debut appearances with the Orchestra of the Teatro di San Carlo di Napoli, Orchestra Filarmonica Toscanini, Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, Festival Pergolesi Spontini, Teatro GB. Pergolesi di Jesi, Orchestra da Camera Polledro, Savaria Symphony Orchestra (Hungary), Szolnok Symphony Orchestra (Hungary) and Orchestra Filarmonica de Stat Arad (Romania).
Since the summer 2018 he is faculty member in the opera and conducting departments of the Vienna Summer Music Festival, where he conducted „La Boheme“ and where in 2019 he will lead the productions of „Gianni Schicchi“ and „Suor Angelica“.
Active as mentor for young conductors and coach for singers, 2019 he will be guest conductor in the Opera Studio of the Conservatorio di Milano for the production of „Don Giovanni“.
In the Season 2019/20 he will debut in the Theater Basel (Switzerland) with „La Boheme“.
Giuseppe Montesano won several prizes in national and international festivals and competitions both in choral and in orchestra conducting (Among them: 1st prize at the International Competition for Orchestra Conductors in Graz 2011, 1st prize at the International Competion for Opera Conductors in Costanta 2016, „Premio dell´istituzione concertistica Magna Grecia“ 2017)
He conducted several concerts, operas and operettas in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Irland, Italy, Romania, Russia, Hungary and USA.
 

Anna Sushon, Conductor, Coach






Anna Sushon, born in Novosibirsk, studied orchestral conducting in Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance and later in Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. Since 1996 she lives and works in Vienna. Here she is mostly known as the musical assistent and principal vocal coach of Neue Oper Wien (since 1998). With this theater group she produced more than 70 operas composed in 20 and 21 century. She also coaches russian repertoir at the Vienna State Opera, has participated in productions of Theater an der Wien, Vienniese Chamber Opera, at the festivals in Bregenz, Grafenegg, Carinthia and Wiener Festwochen.

 Anna Sushon has accompanied recitales of diverse soloists in Vienna, Madrid, Berlin, Jerusalem, Moscow, Stuttgart, New York and Tel-Aviv, and conducted concerts and operas in Vienna, Erfurt, Salzburg, Rochester, Zagreb and Stockholm.


Sylvia Saavedra-Edelmann, organization


Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria/Spain. She studied voice at the Conservatory in her hometown and worked as a soloist in the ballet of Las Palmas. Sylvia Saavedra-Edelmann completed her Master of Arts-studies in vocal pedagogy with distinction. She continued studying in Barcelona with Tatiana Menotti and Juan Oncina.. Between 1995 and 1998 she  worked as a singing teacher and Choir Conductor Assistant at the Fundacion Orquesta Filarmonica de Gran Canaria and directed the children's choir at the opera of Las Palmas. 1995 Sylvia Saavedra-Edelmann founded the Opera Studio in Las Palmas. 1998 she moved to Berlin and in 2001 to Vienna. Here she works as a singing teacher, adviser and producer. She is co-founder and organizer of the ottoedelmannsociety OES, established in 2006, who organizes numerous events, concerts, workshops and competitions such Otto Edelmann Society Audience Prize who become with the collaboration of the Music Universitiy of Vienna in the most important Singing Competition actually in Vienna, the Otto Edelmann Singing Competition. The Otto Edelmann Society is focused on the necessities of young singers and the way to the audition and their first jobs with seminars- and audition-Workshops. She has been invited to the National University of Korea in Seoul and to Riga, to the Jozef Latvja Academy and to ISA (Vienna University Summer Academy) for lectures about auditioning. She also organizes concerts at home and abroad among them Sinfonic Concerts for Temudas Festival in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and the Operetta Die Lustige Witwe in Daegu, Korea, as production chief of the Seefestpiele Mörbisch in that country. She has worked as a singing teacher at Gustav Mahler Konservatorium and Since 2015 she also teaches at the Richard Wagner Konservatorium. She is the founder and artistic director PLUSOPERA., an Opera Showcase for young singers where she produced already nine shows since 2015, including modern opera, operetta, opera and musicals. She is also responsible for the organization of ISA Operetta Workshop at Seefestpiele Mörbisch.. As a singer Teacher she is regularly invited for Masterclasses by Vienna Summer Festival and World Culture Network (WCN).

She is married to Bariton, Professor (MDW) and artistic director of Seefestpiele Mörbisch Prof. Peter Edelmann.
